The Executive Committee act in a voluntary capacity and they are responsible for the day-to-day running of the club.
Chair
Martin’s connection to Thaxted Rangers FC goes back over 40 years. He first joined the club as a youth player in 1983 and represented the team until 1989. In 2009, he returned as a coach with the Thaxted Rangers Yellows, a team that came to represent everything the club stands for: fair play, development, and community. Many of those players are still involved today, playing for our senior teams or coaching the next generation through the Little Rangers programme.
Martin holds a Level 2 (UEFA C) coaching qualification and the FA Youth Award 1,2 & 3. He’s also worked for the FA in their flagship Mentor Programme, supporting and developing coaches at grassroots level.
Since becoming Chair in 2019, Martin has helped shape the direction and values of the club promoting equal and fair playing time at all ages. He’s passionate about players developing a life long love for the game, creating a strong sense of community, and making sure every player feels welcome and valued. He believes in creating a safe, calm, and collaborative environment where players are at the centre of everything. Martin actively promotes coach development in delivering positive sessions. He’s never been afraid to go against the grain if it means improving the experience for players and coaches
Vice Chair
Lauren first became involved in the Club in 2018 when her son showed an interest in playing football. With no local team available, she was one of a group of parents pivotal in reviving youth football provision in Thaxted. She soon joined the committee and in 2020 was proposed and elected as Vice Chair.
Lauren spent almost a decade working in education and currently works in the charity/not for profit sector. She is an FA Level 1 Qualified Coach with additional qualifications in disability coaching, safeguarding and first aid, and holds the nationally recognised "duty to care" coaching badge in recognition of dedication to evolving coaching and improving practice.
She is a firm and proud advocate for child-led development, equal and fair playing time, and opportunity for all. Her proudest moment to date was the formation of TRFCs first all girls' team in 2024.

She is a qualified Level 1 Football Coach which has enabled her to further her football qualifications, understanding the importance of player and manager welfare and have the confidence to implement a safe fun environment for everyone.
